Labor productivity in Germany is 1,5 times as high as in Japan. Why is this the case, even though Germans work an average 300 hours less per year? Kan SUMITA takes a close look at this seemingly provocative question in his book, inspired by over 20 years’ experience working in Germany, including his position as Director of Bankhaus Metzler. His observations and reflections paint a vivid picture of the differences between German and Japanese working culture.
