Shinobu TERAJIMA, one of Japan’s most prominent actresses, will receive the NIPPON HONOR AWARD at the 18th NIPPON CONNECTION Film Festival. The award ceremony will take place during the closing ceremony on June 3, 2018 at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm. Shinobu TERAJIMA will also provide further insights into her work in one of our filmmakers’ talks on Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 p.m. in the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm. She will also take questions from the audience.

About Shinobu TERAJIMA

Shinobu TERAJIMA was born in Kyoto in 1972, and is currently one of the most-known and popular actresses in Japan. As the daughter as a famous Kabuki actor, Kikugoro ONOE, she was in contact with the theater at an early age, and her film work has also often been accompanied by stage performances. In addition to the many Japanese awards she has won, she received an award for Best Actress at the Berlinale in 2010 for her role in CATERPILLAR by Koji WAKAMATSU, where she convincingly portrayed the wife of a war veteran.
